Mimas interface moving forward
After a lot of hard work to build the communication layer between Rubyk and Mimas, I have finally managed to display a basic “patch” view with objects and links.
After a lot of hard work to build the communication layer between Rubyk and Mimas, I have finally managed to display a basic “patch” view with objects and links.
The patch is not functional yet: you can add and remove nodes and create links but you cannot save your work nor edit scripts/remove links, but this is something I have been wishing for many years and now, after nearly 3 years of coding, I can start to build the tool I wished I always had !
This also means that the feature set of Rubyk is rapidly catching up with the first prototype. Although the new code has been much improved, it’s always depressing to feel there are things you could do but you cannot with your new code, even though you have:
- improved stability (added multi-threading support)
- created a network layer
- started builtind a graphical interface
Anyway, a shiny interface and the perspective of other users playing with Rubyk is a great source of brain power.
Have a look at rubyk.org for more news…
